Itinerary Details
Day 1: Arrival in Mathura – Exploring the Birthplace of Lord Krishna
Begin your spiritual journey in Mathura with a visit to Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, the sacred birthplace of Lord Krishna. Proceed to Vishram Ghat, where Lord Krishna is believed to have rested after defeating Kansa, and enjoy a peaceful boat ride on the Yamuna River. Have lunch at a local restaurant in Mathura. Later, visit the renowned Dwarkadhish Temple, admired for its beautiful architecture and deep spiritual significance, followed by Potara Kund, the sacred pond where Lord Krishna’s clothes were washed during his childhood. Overnight stay in Mathura.
Day 2: Mathura to Vrindavan
After breakfast, drive to Vrindavan (approximately 11 km / 20 minutes). Start the day at the famous Banke Bihari Temple, one of the most vibrant and important temples dedicated to Lord Krishna. Continue to Prem Mandir, a magnificent marble temple known for its intricate carvings and stunning evening illumination. Visit the ISKCON Temple to experience its serene atmosphere and devotional chants. Enjoy a sattvic lunch at a local restaurant or ashram in Vrindavan. Later, explore Nidhivan, the mystical garden associated with Lord Krishna’s Raas Leela. Overnight stay in Vrindavan.
Day 3: Vrindavan to Barsana and Govardhan
In the morning, drive to Barsana (approximately 40 km / 45 minutes) to visit the Radha Rani Temple, situated on a hilltop and offering panoramic views of the town. During the Holi season, this place is famous for the unique Lathmar Holi celebrations. Continue your journey to Govardhan (approximately 35 km / 45 minutes). Visit the sacred Govardhan Hill and perform the Govardhan Parikrama by foot or vehicle, as per your preference. Also visit Govind Kund, a holy pond associated with Lord Krishna near Govardhan Hill. Overnight stay in Govardhan or return to Mathura.
Day 4: Govardhan to Gokul and Departure
Proceed towards Gokul, closely associated with Lord Krishna’s childhood, before returning to Mathura for your onward journey.
