Itinerary Details
Day 1: Arrival at Gangtok
Welcome at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and drive to Gangtok (135 km, approx. 4.30 hrs hill drive) crossing through the beautiful Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary. From the foothill point “Sevoke,” you will feel the thrill of the hilly drive accompanied by the River Tista flowing along the road. Upon reaching “Rangpo,” the entrance point of Sikkim state, take a tea break and proceed to Gangtok while enjoying the scenic view of steep cultivation and tiny villages that represent Sikkim’s unique identity. On arrival at Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, check in at your hotel and relax overnight.
Day 02: Day Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir
After breakfast around 8:30 am, start for a day excursion trip to Tsomgo Lake (45 km hill drive) at an altitude of 12,400 ft. The lake is almost 1 km long and 15 meters deep, and is considered sacred by the local people. You can take photographs with the beautiful lake as the backdrop and also enjoy a ride on a Yak. Next, visit Baba Mandir, the shrine built in memory of the disappeared Indian Army personnel Baba Harbhajan Singh, located at an altitude of 13,123 ft and 18 km from the lake. Return to Gangtok afterwards. Evening is free; overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03: Day visit in Gangtok
After breakfast around 9:30 am, start the city tour of Gangtok covering Banjhakri Waterfall, Do-Drul Chorten (Buddha Stupa), Institute of Tibetology, Flower Show, Sikkim Cottage Industry, and Enchey Monastery, followed by a visit to Ganesh Tok. Return to the hotel afterwards. Evening is free (no transportation) for shopping or a walking tour in the M.G. Marg area. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04: Drive to Darjeeling
In the morning after breakfast, check out from Gangtok and proceed to Darjeeling via Peshok Road, passing through the lush green stretches of the famous Darjeeling Tea Garden “Lopchu,” along with the picturesque views of the small Lepcha village Lamahatta. On arrival in Darjeeling, check in at the hotel. The evening is free to enjoy a walking tour or a pony ride at the Mall area, or simply observe the colorful lifestyle of the local hill people. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 05: Day enjoy in Darjeeling
Be ready early in the morning; at approx. 4:00 am you will be picked up for a visit to Tiger Hill (24 km hill drive) at an altitude of 8,500 ft for a spectacular view of the colorful sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzonga (subject to weather conditions). On the way back, visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. After breakfast, proceed to visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park (both closed on Thursday), Tenzing Rock, Ropeway View Point (Ropeway ride at own cost), Tibetan Refugee Handicraft Centre (closed on Sunday), Happy Valley Tea Garden (outer view), and Peace Pagoda before returning to the hotel.
Day 06: Back to Home
Charges For Additional Locations Visit
*For Nathula Pass visit (optional) on additional cost of Rs. 6000/- per vehicle (subject to availability of permit from Sikkim Govt. Dept.) – 6-seater only. *For Rumtek Monastery visit in Gangtok (optional) on additional cost of Rs. 2500/- per vehicle – 4-seater, and Rs. 3500/- per vehicle – 6-seater.

Vehicle service for M.G. Marg visit in Gangtok, vehicle service for Darjeeling Mall visit in Darjeeling, air fare/train fare, room heater charges, any food other than specified in ‘Cost Includes’, any entry fees or ride charges, camera charges, and expenses of personal nature such as tips, laundry, bottled water, etc.
